Libraries

The Central Library, established with the opening of the Kyung Hee University’s Global Campus in 1980, is an academic library with an area of 17,498 square meters. It houses over 1.1 million volumes of books and more than 25,000 academic journals of various subjects. The library consists of one Resource room that hold hard cover books, domestic and international periodicals, audiovisual materials, and more. Additionally, there are study rooms with over 2,000 seats, a UN Depository section, a reserved books section, a career-related section, a recent arrivals section, and a library education room. Furthermore, it operates departmental libraries, such as the Engineering Library and the Humanities Library, to provide specialized academic information services.

The library has been continuously developing since the introduction of the UNIX-based Integrated Electronic Library Service in 1993. In 2018, a cloud-based next-generation electronic library system was established to support research with a wide range of electronic materials in a professional, continuous and timely manner. In 2020, the library adopted the RFID system and expanded digital resources to make library resources more efficient and user-friendly. The library actively provides online material services, online library education and some specialized services tailored to each major.

The Central Library of the Global Campus will fulfill its duty as a university library for humanity and civilization, with excellence in education and academia.
